Project Joseph is a vital initiative launched by APCF to provide essential food relief to vulnerable communities and orphanages impacted by natural disasters across Asia. Our goal is to address immediate hunger needs and build long-term food sustainability in areas devastated by events such as typhoons or storms. By providing direct food aid and empowering local food production, Project Joseph transforms crisis into stability, giving children and families the security they need.
Project Joseph is designed to not only meet urgent food needs that arise from natural disasters, but also to build lasting resilience through proactive agriculture. With a focus on the purchasing and distribution of rice and other essential crops, this program aims to support communities through both short-term and long-term measures.
Project Joseph is about more than just distributing food – it’s about providing hope and stability to communities in crisis. With every bulk purchase of rice or newly planted crop, we help transform a desperate situation into one where families can rebuild. From robust agricultural training to disaster relief, Project Joseph ensures that orphanages and villages have what they need to grow their own food and thrive.
Project Joseph represents more than just food distribution—it’s about providing a path to self-reliance and stability. By focusing on immediate relief and sustainable agriculture, this initiative ensures that vulnerable communities are not only fed today but are equipped to face tomorrow’s challenges with the supplies they need.

While Project Joseph was initially established for emergency food relief, its mission has expanded to include long-term sustainability. By working with local experts, we help the homes transition from dependency to self-reliance through sustainable agricultural practices.
The primary focus is on bulk rice distribution, as rice is a staple food that provides essential nutrition for children and families. In addition, Project Joseph supports the growth of other crops to diversify the diet and foster self-sufficiency in the long term.
When a natural disaster hits, Project Joseph steps in to provide emergency food supplies, focusing primarily on bulk rice distribution to orphanages and communities that have lost their crops or food stores. This ensures families have immediate access to food during times of crisis.
Project Joseph operates with an annual budget of $100,000, allocating approximately $10,000 to each of the 14 homes we support. This funding ensures food sufficiency, covering about $835 per month per home, providing meals and helping establish sustainable farming solutions.
Project Joseph serves 14 APCF homes, providing essential food supplies and agricultural training to ensure children and vulnerable communities have the sustenance they need. Our efforts benefit those facing immediate crises, as well as helping build resilience for future challenges.
Beyond emergency relief, Project Joseph focuses on food sustainability. We partner with agricultural experts, including consultants, to help orphanages establish food self-sufficiency through crop cultivation and sustainable farming practices. This long-term strategy empowers communities to become independent.
